I’ve had a rental agreement with APM for over 10 years. The staff handled any problems I had with a professional manner. I would recommend, and HAVE recommended APM to anyone who is looking for rental property.
Unfortunately my experience with this affordable property management was not a good. Over the phone speaking with someone who sounded as if they were of Asian descent, I was helped with the utmost professionalism. Yet when it came to the part where I submit my identification card for purposes of property viewing, instanly the property became unavailable and the tone of the man helping me changed. Clearly, I am an African American woman and I know for a fact this was an issue, once it was discovered. Second incident, I had followed the correct steps to view a particular property in Union City and was given the access code to do so. Upon my arrival there were workers on the property and I was denied to view. Mysteriously, it was a mistake on the part of management, who claimed that he forgot that the home was scheduled previously to have maintenance done on the same day I booked to view. This was so unprofessional being that this this is part of his job description to make sure things run smoothly for potential clientele.
I also took it upon myself to voice my opinion of being racially discriminated on, and how I was made to feel. I explained how I was raised I Union City, and attend grade levels from kindergarten to high school, and a county employee. 😳 This business is unfair and racial profiles and discriminates against minorities. I would not recommend anyone of color wasting time paying fees to be treated so unfair after doing so. I wish I could rate 0 stars, because the service was so bad. I pray that this company sees its unjustice ways, and change their attitudes to actually reflect their company's values.

I just saw the owners response to my review, and clearly it proves your unprofessional management. To denounce my truth and my experience completely shows your level of unethical practices. Your response is attacking, and no resolve was given as it professionally should have been. Clearly, the need to be unprofessional is normal with this company. I still have the emailed conversations of my unfair treatment readily available if further proof is necessary. This is highly discouraging and I hope this review and response Is taken seriously. As I stated before, I am an Alameda County Behavioral Health employee, and this company is in clear violation of the fair housing act, as it pertains to my situation. Your response as the owner clearly shows your unethical and biased practices. Rightfully, an apology at the least is due...
They encouraged everyone to apply for the rental home at $35 a person. We all applied and we all have great rental history. Our combined income exceeded $365k+ but after we applied they said someone else was more qualified. This is absurd. Never heard of not getting a rental because someone else was better qualified. Either you are qualified or not, you do not take as many applications as you can for $35 dollars and then go with the best one. You go through one set of applicants at a time if you are going to charge a fee, and if they aren't qualified you go to the next one.
Whoever run this company is unprofessional and rude. I am an owner of one the property they used to manage and i ask them to provide me with with docs of my property. I talked to a person who seems to be the owner and he was rude, disrespectful with aggressive language. I was calm and trying to understand what i need to do in order to get docs of my property prior I bought where at that time they have to be managed by them. Do not deal with such people they dont care about you as much as they care abut getting their %
when a person who suppose to deal with tenants and landlord telling you " i don't want to hear your crab" when you are asking a normal question on how can i get the docs... then you can tell how professional they are!

Our property management lead, Leon, says what he means and means what he says. He's been reliable and up front with us on expectations throughout the process. He does not over-promise; he delivers upon his promises. No organization is perfect; we did have one repair from a third-party vendor double-invoiced, but APM ratified the error, quickly. It's the response to adversity that's more important than untested promises, and APM came through. We can't in good faith give higher than a four Star review because we have no other property management company experience with which to compare to APM; thus far, we're not looking to replace APM. APM is performing above expectations.
Current Tenant with APM. Very impressed with how everything has been handled thus far. They are responsive in emails and prompt to return calls, handled my paperwork and application easily. Every work order i've submitted has been handled quickly and professionally.
We switched to APM because we lost confidence with our previous property manager. Not only that APM offered better pricing, they were the only company who answered the call immediately when we called.
